I had a wonderful time this weekend at the National Kids Yoga Conference. But I did end up missing the last hour so that I could heed the advice of Leah Kalish of Move with Me Yoga Adventures: to take care of yourself before your To-Do list. Or, well, maybe I kind of mixed them together.
I wasn’t up for making a whole lunch and then eating lunch out in a crowded room. That was fun on Saturday, but I really can’t digest when I am talking with people. It’s too hard on my system. So I brought an apple and had a grapefruit in the car and decided I would just go when I needed to go.
Although I knew I would love to see the event come to a close, I also knew I had reached my limit. I needed to get to the grapefruit and get home to start working on my recap post and getting some lunch made before my husband got home with our kids.
As it happened, there wasn’t much time before I arrived, but it was enough to get settled, do some dishes, load my photos, and text about an afternoon playdate with a neighbor (during which time I did get a little writing done).
And then I cooked and packed for tomorrow’s field trip, when I need to be at the school at 6 a.m.! It’s now almost 10 p.m., so off I go to get some rest! Alarm is set for 4:48 so I can fit in some yoga and centering!
Here I am with one of the main conference organizers. She and they all did such a great job! So fun!
