Today my blog energy went to Mindful Healthy Life, where I finally got up a profile the local natural foods grocery store chain MOM’s Organic Market, on the almost-eve of its Arlington store grand opening as well as a gift card giveaway.
But just to get out a little update on things around home:
I woke on my own at 5:00 a.m., got out of bed around 5:20, journaled for a few minutes, decided I would wait until later to get on the elliptical (never happened), revisited a to-do list (not much happened there, either!) and got to work on crafting that MOM’s piece out of the notes I took two months ago at the most recent MOM’s store grand opening, which included a tour with the owner. I’m a huge fan of the local chain, so it was exciting finally get up these pieces.
Once I set my mind to it — with a deadline, which always helps! — it should not have taken all that long. But I didn’t want to turn on the wifi while everyone was still sleeping, so I had to leave some info gaps and go back and fill them in. Additionally, my son woke up earlier than I’d expected and, crazy kid, actually wanted to engage with his parent. And also watch hockey highlights, during which many shouts of “Mom, you’ve got to see this!” issued forth.
By the time I let him sit next to me and watch me do PicMonkey with some images and make both posts live, linking back and forth, and send an email to the MOM’s PR guy for his review before my MailChimp sent the post to my subscribers, the sun was long risen, as was his father, who had almost finished making a batch of waffles.
Having missed my morning elliptical workout to get to the blog post, I couldn’t eat without moving. (Plus, I can’t eat waffles, even if they are GF). So while I cooked, I did yoga while the family ate and took a walk to the end of the block. After I ate, I wanted to try the apple butter we’d made, so I snapped a photo and got up a social media share and a congrats to the Paleo Parents on the anniversary of the publication of of #reallifepaleo. More on that in its own post soon!
Later we all worked in the garden, and while our kids played with the neighbors, my husband and I got a bunch of stuff posted on Craiglist and Freecycle! Not bad for a day off school in the middle of the week!
